On the Roof of Germany...
At 2,962 m, the Zugspitze is Germany's highest mountain.
The border mountain to Austria is part of the Wetterstein massif in the northern limestone Alps. Whether in summer or winter, a visit to the Zugspitze should be included in your vacation plans.
Take the Zugspitze cable cars from Garmisch, Grainau, or Ehrwald to the summit, or explore the vast Zugspitze area on foot.
One of the most beautiful routes leads from Hammersbach through the Höllental to the Höllentalangerhütte, where you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Zugspitze. However, the further hike to the Zugspitze summit is recommended only for experienced climbers.
Detailed information about the Zugspitze, the mountain station, and the cable cars can be found at www.zugspitze.de.
Experience a dream day on Germany's highest peak - the Zugspitze.
