The Wetterstein Mountains, also known simply as the Wetterstein, is a mountain range in the northern Alps.
It is an impressive mountain range situated between Mittenwald, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Ehrwald, and Seefeld in Tyrol. The Wetterstein Mountains are home to the Zugspitze, Germany's highest peak at 2,962 meters above sea level.

From the Mittenwald side of the Wetterstein Mountains, at almost 2,300 meters altitude, there is a beautiful view over the entire ridge of the Wetterstein Mountains, Lautersee, Ferchensee and Mittenwald.
