Traditional & Medieval ...
Every five years, the people of Mittenwald celebrate the trading post on the route between Augsburg and Venice, a branch of the Brenner Pass of the Via Claudia Augusta.
Due to disputes, the market was relocated from Bozen to Mittenwald in 1487, bringing prosperity and prestige to the market town.
Jugglers, fire-eaters and performers bring the pedestrian zone back to the Middle Ages. Craftsmen and mercenaries, everyone simply finds their way. The historical minstrel band with its participants ensures lively spirits. Casual medieval activities provide a lot of atmosphere and transport even the last to the time of the Bozner Markt.
The numerous market stalls cater to visitors' culinary needs with medieval specialties and fine South Tyrolean red wine.
